10 Trades roles to be added to the New Zealand Green list from August 2025 offering a work to residence pathwayThe New Zealand Government has announced that, from 18 August 2025, ten trades occupations will be added to Tier 2 of the Green List, opening up new opportunities under the Work to Residence visa category.

This development is part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to address skill shortages and support long-term workforce needs across key industries.

What’s Changing?
From August, workers in the following trades roles will become eligible to apply for residence in New Zealand, provided they meet all visa criteria:

It has also been announced that the median wage threshold for Skilled Residence Visas will be increasing to NZ$33.56 an hour on 18th August 2025.
