There are a number of roles, particularly health care roles on the Green List, that require you to have occupational registration in order to work in New Zealand and to be able to get a visa. Many of these roles can get you on the Straight to Residence pathway.
In some industries, you will need to have your New Zealand professional registration approved (or nearly completed) in order to be considered for any job vacancies.
Here are some of the New Zealand professional registration boards that you will need to register with in order to work in New Zealand:
- Doctor – Medical Council of New Zealand
- Nurse – Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Radiographers, Sonographers and Radiation Therapists – New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board
- Midwife – Midwifery Council of New Zealand
- Anaesthetic Technician (ODP) – Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand
- Physiotherapist – Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand
- Occupational Therapist – Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand
- Teachers – Teaching Council of New Zealand
